Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
